What You'll Be Doing
Team members in this department are responsible for maintaining their assigned area in a clean and sanitary condition, per guidelines and standards; and continually seeking ways to improve the appearance of the Center through partnership with leadership.
Job Objective
- Thoroughly cleans assigned, and maintains adequate toilet tissue, paper towels, soap and can liners in assigned area.
- Demonstrates proper use and care of all environmental services equipment and ensures appropriate usage of supplies.
- Practices positive and engaging professional behavior.
- Respects patient's privacy and confidentiality with every interaction as per HIPAA regulations.
- Uses all chemicals correctly and knows safety precautions; changes solutions at proper intervals and ensures that chemicals are properly labeled.
- Performs consistent with Shepherd Center standards, clinical policies, and procedures.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Center and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
- Keeps area free of dust including vents, door frames/hinges, blinds, fixtures, pictures, windowsills, wallboards, desks, chairs, etc. using proper equipment and technique.
- Performs other duties as required/requested/assigned.
Main Job Responsibilities: Environmental Services (ES) Aide
- Prepares and sanitizes patient rooms for admission, maintenance, and discharge.
- Cleans and sanitizes Nursing stations, lounge areas, break rooms and bathrooms.
- Keeps floors clean; cleans epoxy tile floors with dust mop and damp mop with Infection Control germicide and vacuum carpeted floors.
- Clean patient/public bathrooms and water fountains in accordance with procedures.
Main Job Responsibilities: Floor Tech
- Performs floor care including bonnet cleaning and extraction of carpets, mopping, scrubbing, buffing and waxing floor.
- Disposes of waste properly.
- Collects and distributes linen.
- Sets up rooms for meetings and center functions as assigned.
- Cross-trained in ES Aide responsibilities for backup purposes
- Seals boxes of hazardous waste and transports to bio-hazardous room.
