Join our team as a Mechanical Engineer III and leverage your technical expertise to optimize the cost of existing product designs. Alongside enhancing design quality, you will be responsible for scrutinizing systems, equipment, and packaging. Prior to implementing any design changes, you will collaborate closely with knowledgeable individuals to gain a comprehensive understanding of the critical variables that need to be satisfied in each component or subassembly. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in defining the content and conducting design verification and validation tests on the modified designs. This role offers a great opportunity to collaborate with the Operations team in order to achieve project goals while ensuring top-notch quality and cost effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities:
- Cost Analysis: Perform comprehensive cost analysis on current manufacturing processes, materials, and components to find areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with design engineers and manufacturing teams to optimize product designs, manufacturing processes, and assembly methods, focusing on reducing material waste, labor costs, and cycle times.
- Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities through negotiations, alternative sourcing, and value engineering initiatives.
- Value Engineering: Lead value engineering projects to identify alternative materials, components, or manufacturing methods that can lower costs without compromising product quality or performance.
- Risk Assessment: Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with cost reduction initiatives to ensure product integrity and reliability.
- Cost Tracking: Develop and maintain cost tracking systems to monitor and report on cost reduction progress and achievements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with industry professionals to develop and implement design verification and validation testing for design modifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of ongoing improvement by actively seeking out opportunities to reduce costs, staying informed about industry trends and advancements, and incorporating them into relevant projects.
Job Requirements:
- B.S in Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 5-10 years of experience in electromechanical product design.
- A higher degree may have fewer years of industry experience, commensurate with your degree
- Experience designing or redesigning electromechanical systems - this can be demonstrated in any industry if you have the willingness to learn and a strong work ethic
- Demonstration of strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with SolidWorks, Pro-E, or similar 3D mechanical design software essential
- Understanding of mechanical, fluidic, optical, and electronic assemblies
- Knowledge of intricate fluidic systems involving various pump types and valves
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and team skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Adept at planning, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and following through

Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in Colorado is $88,000.00-$145,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
