Overview

Performs assignments supporting project teams in the electronic testing and development of products. Work on an electronic product development team with minimal supervision. Requires broad electronic technician skills, good product knowledge, and some understanding of the product development process.

KEY ACCOUNTIBILITY

• Provides technical support to all members of a project team. Involved in building, testing, and documenting new designs as well as support of existing products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage time and deliverables with minimal supervision to meet project team objectives.

• Build designs under the supervision of the design team.

• Assist in product validation testing as directed.

• Assist in preparation of documentation necessary to develop and release new designs. Learn and understand Company design and release processes.

• Participate in engineering proto builds along with Operations, Development Engineers, and Contract manufacturers.

• Assist in the debugging of prototype designs as well as troubleshooting current products.

• Procure component parts as directed by design team.

• Prepare information for design reviews.

• Prepare design documentation required for product release. Maintain Bills of Material and cost estimates during the development process.

• Follow company policies and procedures.

• Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
• This is primarily an office based position requiring significant amount of PC use.

• Light assembly and some heavy lifting.

• May work on vehicles or in a shop environment.

• Some travel required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Education:

• Associates degree or equivalent education or equivalent experience.

Years of Experience:

• Minimum 1 year relevant work experience.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work directly with Customer Service, Operations and Sales on product related issues

• Ability to use schematic capture tools to maintain existing schematics, or create new schematics.

• Capable of determining root cause analysis of issues on designs of moderate complexity with assistance of design engineers.

• Basic understanding of how our products are used by our Customers. Capable of demonstrating use of products.

• Familiar with current manufacturing processes and the hardware and software testing tools associated with them.

• Assist in determining cause of Customer complaints and product returns.

• Can utilize structured troubleshooting processes such as 8D.
