Summary:
The Donor Communications Specialist plays a crucial role in telling the story of Altru Foundation to multiple audiences, internally and externally. This position leads all aspects of the foundation's marketing and communications, including the ideation, creation, and coordination of content and materials. Moreover, this position works closely with the foundation and system to develop compelling fundraising messaging for specific projects. In doing so, the Donor Communications Specialist gathers, manages, and presents the information requisite to telling the story of Altru. In partnership with foundation leadership, this position will help grow these functions over time.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops core fundraising messaging to tell the engaging story of Altru and make a compelling case to support Altru Foundation.
  • Partners with foundation leadership to create and activate the annual communication plan and calendar, integrating the various areas and efforts of the foundation.
  • Prepares custom fundraising materials, operational reports, and personalized proposals for Director of Philanthropy and Chief Partnership and Philanthropy Officer.
  • Develops templated fundraising materials and supplemental fundraising communications for the use of foundation team members.
  • Organizes and manages the collection and production of content archives, such as project overviews, impact stories and testimonials, video reels, and photo images.
  • Writes, edits, and coordinates internal and external content, including but not limited to fundraising appeals, newsletters, impact reports, and press releases.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on digital marketing and social media platforms, developing strategy and overseeing daily tasks.
  • Monitors, tracks, and analyzes the effectiveness of communications and marketing efforts and adjusts strategy as needed.
  • Creates reports on engagement and effectiveness for print and digital communications and marketing efforts.
  • Collaborates with foundation team on messaging and materials for annual events and special initiatives.
  • Provides support to the Chief Partnership and Philanthropy Officer and Director of Philanthropy in preparing talking points, speech scripts, and presentations as assigned.
  • Manages and updates public information and content, notably the foundation website and donor recognition displays.
  • Ensures partners and vendors involved in fundraising communication and marketing initiatives comply with branding guidelines and communication policies to confirm consistent brand style, tone, and voice.
  • Conducts research on the latest trends and best practices in fundraising communications and nonprofit marketing and incorporates applicable strategies into foundation efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs and goals of the department and organization.

Certification

• Required: Bachelors - Communications- OR -Bachelors - Marketing- OR -Bachelors - Nonprofit Management- OR -Bachelors - Related Field
