The Development Engagement Manager reports to the Director of Development. This position oversees the strategic design and implementation of the annual giving program, alumni relations program, and employee giving program, as well as the philanthropic cultivation of affinity groups.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute coordinated annual giving and employee giving programs that include cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to launch a multitude of giving opportunities for the Waubonsee Foundation.

Design and implement an alumni relations program strategy that will foster meaningful connections between the over 30,367 alumni and the College through programs, events, and communications.

Develop and execute a strategic workflow that provides designated communications to donors, key stakeholders, and prospects at specified intervals and milestones.

Cultivate a network of key internal and external contacts to aid in development and efforts to strengthen alumni, employee, and donor engagement.

Ensure donors receive customized reports on the activity and status of their annual scholarships and endowed scholarships, as applicable

Coordinate with colleagues to identify and segment data for appeals and special projects, produce database reports and queries to track campaigns and appeals status to track effectiveness and return on investment

Analyze data and make appropriate adjustments to activities and programs to ensure strong results. Perform regular evaluations of giving efforts each fiscal year and generate a comprehensive annual plan for the coming fiscal year.

Enter in all gifts to the Foundation into Raisers Edge.

Track trends in donor activity, focusing on donor retention and building annual giving and employee giving donor base.

Analyze the effectiveness of alumni, employee, and annual giving programming and events in order to recommend improvements and updates to existing programs or propose new creative strategies, programs, and services.

Engage with the community

Liaison with staff and faculty across all program areas of the college to develop strategies on partnering to build relationships with, engage, and steward, alumni.

Engage current students in meaningful ways as to initiate an alumni relations relationship before leaving Waubonsee.

Partner with Institutional Effectiveness on the Alumni Pathways software to gather alumni data.

Remain current on industry trends and best practices.

Create and maintain policy and procedure documentation for the responsibilities of this position in order to formalize and standardize the processes and operations of the department.

Update constituent profiles in Raisers Edge to ensure accurate contact, anecdotal, education, employment, etc information.

Other position-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Three years' related experience in non-profit fundraising and/or relationship management experience required with experience in alumni relations or annual giving preferred

Experience with fundraising or equivalent relationship management software required. Experience with Blackbaud products preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and social media platforms required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to work with diverse groups including donors and potential donors, Waubonsee Foundation Directors, Waubonsee students, community members, faculty and staff.
