BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Design Engineer III for a Remote opportunity!

Position Title: Design Engineer III

Location: Remote

Anticipated Start Date: 12/09/2024

Expected Duration: 6 Months Contract

Job Type: Contract (>=30 HRS WEEKLY)

Pay Range: TBD

Role Mandate:

• The team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Filter Designer. The ideal individual will have a strong background in designing decimation filters and proficiency in MATLAB.

Role Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

• Design and develop high-quality digital filters, with a focus on decimation filters
• Create floating-point and fixed-point reference designs for digital filters
• Utilize MATLAB for filter design, simulation, and implementation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate filter designs into larger systems and facilitate end to end simulation
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure high-quality outcomes in all design and integration tasks
• Collaborate effectively with physical design and verification team members, contributing to team efforts and project success

Must-Have Skills:

• 5+ years of proven experience in designing digital signal processing blocks such as FIR, IIR, decimation Filters and CIC filters design
• Strong Proficiency in MATLAB and the Signal Processing Toolbox
• Experience in creating test vectors for fixed-point and floating-point bit accurate test vector generation using MATLAB and verify the RTL design
• Experience with floating-point and fixed-point reference design
• Strong hardware MATLAB experience, ability to demonstrate
• Running Lint/RDC/CDC
• Experience designing blocks
• Resume must showcase project work
• Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports
• Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD)

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Design verification or physical design skills
• Experience in designing Datapath hardware accelerators
• Experience in hardware design using development in Verilog, SystemVerilog
• Experience with other EDA tools and methodologies related to design verification and validation is a plus.
• Familiarity with tools such as Spyglass for conducting Lint, CDC checks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve design issues effectively.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Tcl for automation of design tasks is beneficial.
• Knowledge of ADC and Sample Rate converter

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (pre-requisite)
