Position: Data Scientist III
Job Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030
Duties: Collaborate with business partners to understand their problems and goals and develop predictive modeling, statistical analysis, data reports and performance metrics. Use Python and SQL to explore, examine, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms to prepare modeling dataset for analysis. Work with client teams to synthesize marketing variables from campaign level data at Walmart Connect. Pull non-media data from a variety of data sources. Assess the completeness and quality of modeling dataset. Conduct exploratory data analysis using techniques such as calculating summary statistics, visualizing data distributions, identifying outliers, exploring relationships between variables, and performing hypothesis testing to identify patterns, trends, and relationships in the data. Design and develop statistical time series models using algorithms such as Linear and Logistic Regression, Bayesian Regression, Ridge Regression, and Genetic Algorithm to predict and analyze key business metrics such as Incremental ROI, Return on Ad Spend, and Headroom in Marketing Investment and trends to identify the drivers of business outcomes. Validate and refine models using various evaluation techniques, including cross-validation, hypothesis testing, and performance metrics. Develop optimization and simulation algorithms to guide the marketing investment and allocation recommendations to stakeholders. Ensure all data is accurately reflected in all reporting tools through quality assurance process. Analyze and interpret model results to provide deep insights at various granularities such as in-store and online media channels, paid and organic media, and onsite and offsite display ads. Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders (internal and client teams) in a clear and concise manner. Provide consultations to clients on analytics results and solutions by interacting with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to marketing analytics. Perform data analyses to solve multiple and/or complex business problems utilizing advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses and broad knowledge of the organization and/or industry. Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in predictive modeling and data science techniques.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years of experience in an analytics or related field.
Skills required: Experience with modeling algorithms including Linear and Non-linear Regression. Experience with Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM). Experience with Machine Learning, Predictive Modeling, and Optimization. Experience with programming languages including SQL and Python. Experience presenting to clients, stakeholders, and internal and external teams about measurements, ROAS, ROI, and KPI. Experience with digital advertising, retail media, and ads measurement. Experience communicating clearly with clients and working with cross functional stakeholders. Experience with statistics and quantitative analysis.
