General Position Description:This position will be responsible for developing new and existing programs/curriculum for the Professional Continuing Education (PCE) team at Valencia College. This individual will partner with program teams on planning the development of new programs, update/revise existing curriculum, conduct extensive research to support new program development, and move programs from development to delivery while providing support to the team.

Salary Range:$51,386 - $57,809 per year
Description of Job Function:1. Develops online programs by creating templates on-course management system. Researches viable programs to transition delivery. Work with Technology team and other departments to create/embed videos, games, databases and other interactive online options for collaboration.
Description of Job Function:2. Regularly meets with team leaders on the direction for new programs or program revisions to assess the needs and develops a formal plan for gathering program data. Communicates the time line for new program development and program revisions.
Description of Job Function:3. Researches vendors, industry credentials, potential employers, new program curriculum and other program/sources to consistently enhance the quality of our programs. Recommends changes and improvements to current programs.
Description of Job Function:4. Manages the program development process all the way through implementation, pilot and first year delivery. Monitors the pilot of new programs and makes adjustments to program based on feedback from internal and external partners.
Description of Job Function:5. Manages and produces leader guides, participant workbooks, power points, hands on job aides and other tools to create value add for our programs. Communicates about supplies and materials needed for programs and ensures content meets brand standards.
Description of Job Function:6. Identifies certification, licensing and training requirements for new programs as well as instructor training and credentialing needed for new programs.
Description of Job Function:7. Facilitates sessions with a subject matter expert to learn what should be taught, develop program objectives, and support development of customized curriculum. Researches any simulation and hands-on methods that are recommended for teaching the content.
Description of Job Function:8. Designs/develops the storyboards for programs. Conducts a pre-write review with key stakeholders.
Description of Job Function:9. Creates efficient systems to house program information, filing structures and archives old content and special opportunities for curriculum that has not been sold.
Description of Job Function:10. Gathers feedback from Project Managers on client needs and analyzes data to make recommendations for new programs.
Description of Job Function:11. Facilitates partnerships with potential employers and industry partners for new and existing continuing education programs.
Description of Job Function:12. Facilitates the decision making process with leadership team on moving forward with new programming. Preparation would include needs analysis, content map, cost calculator, and course outline.

Required Minimum Education:Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.
Preferred Education & Field of Study:Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Business, Management, HRD, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Education or related field.
Preferred Type of Experience:Experience in creating and designing training content for adult learners.
Experience in managing multiple projects at the same time.
Experience in organizing curriculum for a variety of programs.
Experience with researching and analyzing curriculum and instructor resources.
Experience in training, organizational development, or performance improvement.
Knowledge of workplace learning, training and development, and human performance improvement concepts.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and concepts.
Knowledge of programs, courses, curricula, and initiatives that support individual and organizational learning.
Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines and prioritizing changing needs.
Ability to analyze work flow, prioritize, communicate about deadlines, solve problems, make appropriate decisions and create mutually successful solutions.

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus.
