JOB OVERVIEW:

The Quality Laboratory Coordinator executes foundational tasks related to Van Drunen Farms internal and external testing programs. This position ensures food safety and quality through tracking of internal and external testing along with the accurate and timely entry of product quality testing data. The role also provides LIMS support to analytical and compliance teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Enter data into Quality Inventory and/or Laboratory Systems in a timely and accurate manner
  • Generate sub-samples and composite samples as necessary for external laboratory submission
  • Log sample submission data via appropriate systems
  • Verify and code external laboratory invoices
  • Assist Mackin Quality Lab with microbiological and/or physical analysis benchwork
  • Provide LIMS support to laboratory analysts and Quality Compliance personnel when necessary
  • Generate reports via LIMS and/or Inventory Management System as assigned

JOB EXPERIENCE:
  • One year minimum applicable experience required
  • Experience in agriculture, food manufacturing, or dietary supplement Quality Assurance and/or manufacturing preferred

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Intelligent, organized, detail-oriented, good work ethic, positive attitude
  • Strong prioritization and time-management skills
  • Ability to think critically and analytically
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in basic computing with ability to assimilate new programs and applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related discipline preferred (or equivalent industry experience)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time required
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Performance of repetitive tasks utilizing arms, hands, and fingers required
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Open office concept wherein majority of workday is spent working alongside team members.
