The Coordinator of Student Support & Commuter Programs supports the mission by assisting with the development of a robust support system for all University students who experience complex, personal difficulties that may be creating barriers to their success both inside and outside the classroom. The Coordinator assists with outreach and follow-up care to students who are experiencing crisis or distress that impacts their social, personal, and/or academic stability. The Coordinator will serve as an advisor to the Cornerstone Program and supervise the Cornerstone mentors. The Coordinator will oversee commuter student services and programs, including outreach to commuter students and oversight of the commuter student center. Coordinator of Student Support & Commuter Programs assists with adjudication of conduct cases as needed, including advising of the Student Conduct Board.

Major Responsibilities:

• Identify & facilitate follow-up initiatives with students of concern that are reported to Student Life by campus partners
• Manage sensitive and confidential data, as well as all of the tasks associated with creating and tracking cases, updating case notes, closing cases, and all of the overall data/record keeping management for all cases
• Serve as advisor for the Cornerstone Program for first-generation college students, including coordinating, promoting, and executing four meetings per semester, tracking attendance, and sending communication
• Oversee commuter student services and programs
• Serve as a student conduct administrator, reviewing, investigating, adjudicating, and managing student conduct cases
• Serve as one of the advisors for the Student Conduct Board; schedule hearings, send notices to involved parties, review sanction submissions, and process cases administratively in Guardian

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong skills in administrative and crisis management, advising, pro-active problem-solving, judgment and decision-making, and interpersonal, oral, and written communication
• Demonstrated a commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds
• Knowledge of current state/federal laws related to student conduct, including FERPA, Title IX, VAWA, HIPAA, ADA, and the Clery Act
• A proven record of positive student engagement, high degree of energy, patience, sensitivity to the academic and personal needs of college students, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning that goes beyond the classroom.
• Master's degree in counseling, social work, higher education administration, college student personnel (or a related field) preferred
