Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Centeroffers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.

About the Mood Clinic

The Mood Disorder Clinic operates as an outpatient program within Eskenazi, catering to individuals primarily diagnosed with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder. The clinic is committed to delivering high-quality treatment services aimed at effectively supporting individuals through a combination of individual and family therapy, along with psychiatric services. By focusing on comprehensive care, the Mood Disorder Clinic strives to provide the necessary support and resources for individuals grappling with mood-related challenges, fostering their well-being and mental health.

Where you fit in:

In the role of a Clinician, your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of therapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and group sessions, all grounded in evidence-based practices. Central to this position is the management of a caseload, where you will systematically identify the therapeutic, rehabilitative, and case management needs of each client.

Am I Qualified?

  • Master's degree in a Human Services field.
  • At least an Associate licensure, progressing towards or possessing full clinical licensure: LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), or LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist).
  • Possession of a valid Indiana driver's license.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Embrace , understand, and operate under the Recovery Model, including AIDET and the spirit of motivational interviewing (MI), while adhering to established levels of accountability.
  • Conduct biopsychosocial evaluations (BPSE), integrating team-gathered information to develop integrated diagnostic summaries.
  • Prepare Clinical Treatment plans based on BPSE and consultation with the treatment team, engaging clients, families, and the team throughout the process.
  • Manage a caseload, identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative, and case management needs, and collaborate with team members to address these needs.
  • Perform individual, family, and group therapeutic interventions using evidence-based practices, demonstrating competency.
  • Provide quality case management services based on client needs.
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans at specified intervals, consulting with clients, families, and the team.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of activities and written reports.
  • Identify community resources and assist clients in accessing them.
  • Provide indirect services to external agencies and the community through consultation and education.
  • Interpret and apply services and billing procedures according to client needs, completing billing with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Adjust activities and behaviors to ensure age-appropriate care for clients served.
  • Advocate for clients to ensure access to needed services, including developing community relationships and resources.
  • Meet agency standards for timely completion of documentation and client service hours.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth by actively participating in clinical supervision.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of and ability to implement a strengths-based, community treatment model
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to be both clear and concise in written and verbal communications
  • Demonstrates solid knowledge of psychiatric/addiction diagnoses and understanding of their impact on behavior and all life domains
  • Demonstrates solid knowledge of psychotropic medications and their uses and side effects
  • Willingness and ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to use age-appropriate communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex directives, information, and regulations
  • Crisis intervention skills

Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center's primary mission is to serve individuals with serious mental illness and chronic addiction as well as seriously emotionally disturbed children and their families.
