Job Description Summary
Assist with study coordination and recruitment for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects within the Renal, Electrolyte, and Hypertension Division. Works directly with study physicians, research nurses, study coordinators, and other research staff. Performs recruiting, prepping charts, creating source documents, ordering of suplies and equipment, study visits, consenting of participants, processing and shipping of labs, entering data into databases, picking up and delivering supplies and specimens, and escorting participants to other testing/procedure areas. Maintain and file study records, logs, databases, and spreadsheets. Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to read lab reports needed. Familiarity working with Penn chart is preferred. Willing to learn medical procedures, ie, phlebotomy, ECG, etc. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that would include occasional early mornings, late evenings and weekends.

Job Description

Assist with study coordination and recruitment for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects within the Renal, Electrolyte, and Hypertension Division.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of Phase I-IV clinical trials. Create, coordinate, organize, file, and maintain all documentation required by sponsor, CRO (source documentation, case report forms, study and regulatory binders, and patient binders).
  • Participate in new subject recruitment: identify, recruit, screen, consent, and enroll potential study participants. Escort participants for testing. Pick up and deliever specimens and supplies. Able to screen weekly PennChart schedule and EPIC reports to identify potential eligible participants that would meet study criteria for various studies;
  • Perform study visits as per study protocol. May include studies that are off site. Collect information such as medical history, medication usage, & socio-demographic information. Administer health-related quality of life questionnaires, either in the clinic, or over the phone. Process and ship blood, urine, serum, and other specimens for trials.
  • Research data entry. Resolve data queries with sponsor and CROs. Enter data into electronic databases and perform chart extractions. Send reports and results to primary physicians. Obtain records or other material required to complete case report forms. Obtain materials required to complete case report forms and comply with protocols.
  • Perform research testing, phlebotomy, ECG, vitals, and puslewave analysis.
  • Perform additional administrative duties, such as ordering study supplies (kits, urine collection containers, stationery, etc) as required. Maintain logs, databases, spreadsheets . .
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High School Grad/GE Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
