Job Description:
The Binghamton University Libraries Cataloging and Metadata Department supports the Binghamton University community by providing bibliographic access and control through both metadata and traditional cataloging. Cataloging and Metadata Services is closely integrated with all other departments within the Libraries. The incumbent serves as a member of the team responsible for providing original, adjusted and copy cataloging and bibliographic control for a wide range of print and non-print materials in various formats. A strong commitment to service and user access to information is essential.
The position reports to the Assistant Head of Cataloging/Metadata with the Director of Technical Services as a second-line supervisor. Librarians at Binghamton University are members of the faculty and are expected to contribute significantly to the profession. The salary for this position starts at $60,000 and is commensurate with experience.
