Purpose

The case aide is responsible for assisting resettlement case managers and the resettlement supervisor with any services required under the Cooperative Agreement with the Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugee and Migration, as well as under the Matching Grant (MG) Agreement with the Office of Refugee Resettlement.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Assists the office director in all duties related to running CWS Georgetown programs including case file monitoring and reviews.
  • Assists the case manager with client delivery of core services as needed.
  • Assists the case manager with completing intake paperwork and benefits applications.
  • Connects clients to in-house support and makes referrals to external service providers as necessary to assist clients in achieving self-sufficiency.
Case Management
  • Assist case manager with case notes, case files and other records.
  • Records all financial transactions in the client's financial tracking logs.
  • Assist office director with monthly resettlement reporting of client expenditures.
Common Duties:
  • Advocates on behalf of refugees, and refugee-serving voluntary agencies
  • Keep informed about refugee and immigrant issues, and available services to clients, using current information to better identify and serve refugee clients.
  • Performs all duties in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.
  • Undertakes other duties as assigned.
  • Works varied hours.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma Required

Experience:
  • Previous work experience in refugee resettlement or other direct social services is preferred.

Other Skills:
  • Written and verbal communication skills in the English language are required.
  • The successful candidate must be computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office and internet applications.
  • The successful candidate must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
