Our Cincinnati site is a Center of Excellence for specialized oral solid dose manufacturing and drug development within our Drug Product Division!
How will you make an impact?
As an Engineer III, you will lead capital projects through Design, Construction, and Qualification for Facility Upgrades to the Cincinnati site to support company strategy that meets external customer requirements.
What will you do?
- Lead Project Teams to deliver capital projects with a focus on facility and utility modifications.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects within scope and budget
- Collaborate with internal Thermo Fisher Teams and external contractors to define User Requirements and refine project scope.
- Select, direct, and coordinate contractor and vendor work to enable successful project delivery and implementation.
- Responsible for capital project cash flow forecasts and monthly capital budgets. Works closely with engineering supervisor and manager to ensure forecasts, accruals, and capital depreciation are accurate.
- Action Change Control documentation and Installation Qualification (IQ)/Operational Qualification (OQ)/Performance Qualification (PQ) protocols for Facility and Utility Changes
- Develops, reviews, and understands engineering drawings that include equipment recommendations and utility/facility changes. Specifies construction methods to achieve the desired objectives.
- Coordinate project job site(s) for contractors' and site safety performance and promptly resolve any safety violations that occur.
EducationBachelor of Science Degree from an accredited College or University in an Engineering field (Chemical, Mechanical, or related) is required.
Experience5 years of proven Engineer experience is required.
Prior experience working in facility construction in a Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage, Packaging, or Aseptic environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Works on issues of moderate to high complexity in regards to compliance of processes and product within facilities, manufacturing, and support areas.
- Makes decisions while taking into account the level of risks in regards to compliance and product quality.
- Lead projects of moderate to high complexity in scope and compliance-related challenges to implementing procedures and processes to meet changing regulations.
- Understanding of quality and regulatory requirements for GMP environments and OSHA standards for facility and utility construction.
- Experience leading capital projects - engineering and construction.
- Self-starter, mature, independent, and dependable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced results-orientated environment.
- Effective time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multi-functional teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
