SUMMARY
The Business Research Intern conducts general market research on business opportunities, the competitive market environment and client enterprises. This position is designed to provide well rounded exposure to strategic market research in a corporate environment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program.
Enrollment in a related field such as Business Administration, Business Management, Business Statistics, Data Science or Economics is preferred but not required.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs assigned tasks such as conducting research on business opportunities, the competitive market environment and customer enterprises.
Under the guidance of a Business Strategy team, works with business leadership throughout the company to understand their market intelligence needs and to fulfill requests for business research, information and special projects.
Utilizes basic Internet search engines, specialized quantitative databases, and other sources of information to locate pertinent data. Gathers and organizes data. Formulates data into written reports.
Coordinates with the Business Strategy team to prepare project reports, progress summaries, statistical analysis,and related data assessments.
Implements an innovative approach to researching market trends (e.g., contacting experts in the field, calling other businesses, emailing researchers, etc.).
Be detail-oriented with the ability to utilize strong research and communications skills.
Basic knowledge and understanding of data analytics, statistics and proven research methods.
Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to create presentations and compose meaningful reports.
Ability to employ a customer service approach and to present research / information with clarity.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Currently enrolled in or the recent graduate of a Bachelor's or Master's level university degree program. Must have an acceptable GPA.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
