Job Description Summary
Grave B Shift
This position is responsible for constant monitoring of the batter system. It requires the ability to operate and troubleshoot the batter equipment. This position is also responsible for maintaining the flume additives and for monitoring the starch slurry system.
Job Description
Individuals in this position must:
- Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Be actively involved in safety, participate in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, perform risk assessments and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.
- Understands how to look up QA Specifications for batter.
- Understands product codes and labels on batter tickets and how to use manifest to track inventory.
- Safely opens, handles and hangs batter bags.
- Maintains dry batter hopper and auger levels as needed.
- Assembles/Disassemble batter equipment when needed.
- Communicates problems to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains expected level of sanitation in work area.
- Fills out paperwork as required.
- Must have a good understanding of chemicals and the hazards associated with the processing area.
- Performs assigned duties during cut changes and defrost as required.
- Cleans under and around batter mix areas, and additive areas
- Willing to learn additional Operator roles, in addition to job responsibilities for breaking purposes. Example: Fryer Operator
- Must be able to use computer to enter checks with Military time
- Must be able to operate various tools and equipment, including but not limited to: high pressure hose, flash lights, hot hose, shovels, scrapers, foaming system, brooms, squeegees, telephones, ladders (roll around stairs) , buckets, control panels/terminals , stein cups , stop watches and waste carts.
- Monitor and control the amount of dextrose and salt added to the flume water supply tank to attain target color and salt content in the finished product.
- Monitors and adjust sugar mix tank concentration as required.
- Control starch recovery system in such a manner to maintain quality level and maximize recovery.
- Startup and shutdown of all starch recovery equipment.
- Understands how to look up QA Specifications for item being produced.
- Communicates problems to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains expected level of sanitation in work area.
- Fills out paperwork as required.
- Monitor and maintain starch baume and levels
- Maintain efficiency of starch recovery system.
- Must have a good understanding of chemicals and the hazards associated with the processing area.
- Performs assigned duties during cut changes.
- Follow good housekeeping practices and GMP's.
- Actively participate in AMD activities; Maintains Centerlines and CIL's
- Perform any other duties as assigned by a Team Leader

- Sanitation qualification is required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained.
- Employee must be Lock-out/Tag-out qualification is required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained.
- Forklift Certification is required. If not, employee must meet requirements to become forklift certified.
- Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
- Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed.
- Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety, and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team player, be organized, and plan ahead.
Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Language Skills Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English.

- The noise level in the work environment can exceed 85 dB.
- Will regularly work near moving mechanical parts.
- Will frequently be exposed to humid conditions as well as moderate heat.

- Will work around forklift traffic.
