Position Summary:Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Award Administrator for the Department of Research - Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Award Administrator reports to the Associate Director of Award Services in the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Serves as a member of the Award Services team.
Oversees a portfolio of awards for specific assigned units/colleges.
Facilitates the award review process and confirms the award information including budget and Scope of Work with the Principal Investigator and departmental research administrator prior to account set-up.
Coordinates with the Contract Services team in the review and execution of contract awards to the University and the issuing of subawards.
Conducts the initial compliance review of all New, Continuing, and Supplemental awards prior to award set-up and works with appropriate units in obtaining compliance approvals, i.e. Research Integrity, Export Control Office.
Prepares the post-award worksheet (summary) for incoming funding and enters award information into FAU's research administration system - Novelution.
Assists faculty with the submission of technical reports to the sponsor when the sponsor requires the approval and submission by the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Serves as liaison between faculty (principal investigators) and sponsor when requesting approvals by the sponsor for changes to sponsored projects.
Provides guidance to Principal Investigators and Project Directors in the management of the sponsored project. Works with faculty in the submission of requests to the sponsor that require prior approvals, i.e. requests for no-cost extension, requests for changes to the budget or Scope of Work, change in key personnel, etc.
Resolves routine and non-routine issues, including complex situations as they arise or recommends solutions. Must have the ability to seek resolution through various resources and provide proper guidance.
Applies in depth understanding of federal regulations for sponsored awards including grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements.
Utilizes knowledge to stay abreast of changes to federal regulations, sponsor rules and university policies.

Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of research administration experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of grant or research administration experience required.
