About the Position

We are seeking a Water Resources Market Leader to join our growing Environment + Water Resources team in Peachtree Corners, GA. The ideal candidate possesses 10+ years of project management experience and wants to grow, collaborate, and innovate. In this position, the successful candidate will help lead project management activities like project scoping/budgeting for proposals, building schedules, tracking hours/budget/schedule adherence, communication with clients, issues resolution, deliverable submittals, and project closeout, while establishing strong relationships with clients, internal teams and management/stakeholders. The successful candidate will also help mentor and train junior-mid level project managers in developing project management skills. Design projects will span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets related to project management. We are seeking someone who can be an independent self-starter and can move quickly and efficiently through the stages of a project.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Management Responsibility

• Use servant leadership skills to manage staff and project work and to form a cohesive team aligned to achieve a common goal.

• Responsible for the overall functioning and project results of the market.

• Assign projects to Project Managers and assist in assembling appropriate project teams and subconsultants.

• Ensure project performance through regular project reviews with Project Managers and assist where necessary to correct deficiencies or address project/client issues.

• Develop or oversee development of scope, schedule, and fees for new projects and additional scope/services requested by clients that yield successful projects for clients and the Company.

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date project plans are maintained, including project fundamentals, labor projections, financial goals, and quality control planning.

• May manage projects.

• Recruit staff in conjunction with Senior leadership by evaluating workload, backlog, and client/project needs.

• Retain staff by engaging in morale-building activities such as one-on-one meetings, collaboration sessions, coaching, training and occasional department or office social events.

• Regularly communicate with other Discipline Managers and staff in other offices on capabilities for workload-sharing and cross-selling to internal and external clients.

• Proactively seek opportunities for leadership and growth by volunteering to assist a senior manager with operational, marketing, or technical activities.

• Manage and resolve personnel issues including performance improvement and conflicts.

Marketing Responsibility

• Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients.

• Assist in developing client proposals for projects to ensure a complete scope that meets Company, industry, and client standards and expectations.

• Input, monitor, and update marketing opportunities alone or in conjunction with the Primary Client Contacts.

• Work closely with the Primary Client Contacts to ensure that they are informed of project progress, accomplishments, and challenges.

• Work closely with the Primary Client Contacts to develop new projects and maintain client satisfaction.

• May be assigned as the Primary Client Contact for a client or clients.

Technical Responsibility

• May complete technical tasks including design and quality review.

• Ensure that project documents are consistent with project plans and within project scope and budget.

• Manage data research, collection, and compilation efforts.

• Analyze and correlate scientific and engineering data and recognize discrepancies in results using a series of related detailed steps or processes.

• Identify problems, evaluate options for resolution including risks associated with each, and implement appropriate solutions.

• Approve project plans developed by Project Managers.

Quality Program Responsibility

• Responsible for proper quality assurance and quality control in accordance with the Pond Quality Program to ensure projects meet Company, industry, and client standards and expectations.

• Hold team members and reviewers accountable to the Pond standard for quality.

• Verify and ensure that brainstorming is occurring for all projects and participate in brainstorming as appropriate.

• Ensure quality control is being implemented on subconsultant work product.

• Work with team members to maximize profitability while maintaining a high level of quality.

Experience and Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Water Resources, Biosystems Engineering, or related discipline.

• 10+ years of project management experience (preferably in A/E/C consulting environment).

• Georgia PE licensure is Required; PMP or similar certification is a plus.

• Experience mentoring and training employees.

• Experience with relevant software such as Microsoft Office, MS Project, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HydroCAD, SWMM, ICPR, Hec-HMS, StormCAD, HY8, and other related H&H analysis design software. Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.

• Excellent technical writing and communication skills with ability to deliver complete and accurate documents.

• Project management and business development.

• Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling for floodplains, culverts, and bridges.

• BMP/green infrastructure design and modeling.

• Stream restoration design.

• Preparing H&H studies, drainage reports, design documents, and design plans and specifications.

• Technical writing in the form of memorandums, feasibility studies, regulatory submittals (including CLOMR/LOMR submittals to FEMA).

• Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control design, plan development, and permitting.

• Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Permits

• Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally.

Additional Information

Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Senior Project Manager with a salary range of $115,700.00 - $186,800.00 .
