Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Human Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Associate Professor positions in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of human genetics, and may include expertise in one or more of the following: computational biology, statistical genetics, population genetics, biomedical informatics, complex genetics, clinical genetics, pharmacogenetics/genomics, functional genomics, structural variation analysis, cancer genetics, human phenomics, and genomic medicine. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing both collaborative and independent research programs related to human genetics, co-supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students and other trainees, and research staff, coordinating NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators or independently, active leadership in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts, and mastering of grant writing skills aiming at both academia and industry.

Applicants must have demonstrated substantial experience in aspects of human genetics research as detailed above, with a track record of publication and good communication skills. A funding track record is also expected.

The faculty appointment will be in a department in the School of Medicine that is consistent with the scientific expertise of the successful candidate. Opportunity for a faculty appointment in a second department may be available.
