Major/Essential Functions
- Negotiate and develop clinical research study budgets
- Oversees management of all accounting and fiscal responsibilities of the Clinical Research Institute
- Facilitate, oversee clinical conduct of clinical research projects coordinated by the CRI including but not limited to direct clinical interaction with physicians and clinical research subjects
- Oversee call schedule/call coverage for the clinical research studies overseen by the Clinical Research Institute
- Supervise, help evaluate and train staff within the Clinical Research Institute
- Develop and conduct clinical research and regulatory education for investigators and research staff on all HSC campuses
- Assist with development and maintenance of the CRI Work Order system for activities in the Clinical Research Institute
- Produce performance metrics and reports on status of clinical research activities to the TTUHSC administration
- Foster networking of clinical research personnel across the TTUHSC Campuses
- Review all protocol opportunities for feasibility, PI interest, practicality, competition with on-going studies and budgetary impact
- Assist faculty/staff/students with development of research protocols
- Attend affiliated clinical research meetings where research may be solicited or attends professional meetings where research and compliance training may occur
- Assist with development and maintenance of Clinical Research Institute Web page
- Assist with negotiation of clinical trials agreements with pharmaceutical companies
- Develop and maintain CRI Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist TTUHSC Administration in the development and execution of new institutional Operating Procedures
- Act as clinical research liaison between TTUHSC and Affiliated Hospitals
- Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
- A working knowledge of all aspects related to the conduct of clinical research. PhD in Nursing or Medical Field;
- Current Texas Registered Nurse license, ACRP and/or SoCRA certification within 6 months of employment, CPR certified, documentation of successful completion of CITI training;
- Documentation of appropriately credentialed privileges at University Medical Center.
