Your new role:

Looking to hire an Assistant Project Manager for a rapidly growing General Contractor in either their Washington DC or Baltimore office. The core markets they operate in are K12 and higher education, hospitals, multifamily, libraries, and other municipal projects. Exciting opportunity to join a top tier General Contractor with excellent benefits!

Core Responsibilities:

  • Help in the preconstruction and estimating efforts on the projects.
  • Part of an on-site team responsible for the overall budgeting / bidding activities on projects.
  • Provide initial schedule for estimating and bidding purpose. Assist superintendent with detailed construction scheduling as necessary.
  • Negotiate, award, write and enforce contracts.
  • Review with superintendent project costs to ensure project is kept within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with bond and insurance requirements.
  • Build and maintain local market subcontractor relationships.
  • Work with superintendent on job site logistics and schedule.
  • Coordinate office support as required for project needs.
  • Coordinate all close-out activities on a timely basis.
  • Perform additional assignments per client or management direction.

To be successful in this role:

  • Ideal candidates will have 2-3 years of Education, Hospitals, or Multifamily experience, however client would consider anyone with ground up base build commercial experience.
  • Experience working on projects valued above $20M from start to finish.
  • Operating in a Construction Project Manager position for a commercial general contractor.
  • Construction related degree preferred, ideally in Construction Management. Relevant experience would also be considered.
  • Strong estimating and budgeting ability.
