Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified gynecologic oncologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank to join our division of 5 board certified gynecologic oncologists, a benign gynecologist, and a PhD Researcher, 6 faculty nurse-clinicians, and 4 fellows in sub-specialty training. The position is available immediately.

This position will involve clinical work at our main academic campus at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and surrounding community practice sites. The Division prides itself on being an academic, evidence-based clinical practice. There are ample opportunities for clinical and translational research, and for the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and mentorship opportunities from senior faculty members. Junior faculty are paired with a mentoring committee. The position will include protected research time, startup research funds, full nurse practitioner support, opportunity for leadership in the fellowship program and dedicated OR block time on day 1.

Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only university-based cancer center in South Florida and the only NCI designated cancer center in South Florida.

Completion of a 4-year ACGME residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology and an ABOG/ACGME approved fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology are required. Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows will be expected, as will participating in the Division's research efforts. CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology and subspecialty board eligible in Gynecologic Oncology.

Certification and Licensing:
  • Certification in relevant specialty or field required
  • Active Florida Medical License & DEA
  • Credentialing needed

Minimum Requirements:
  • Candidates should have a MD/DO and be BE/BC in Obstetrics & Gynecology and subspecialty board eligible in Gynecologic Oncology. In addition, they must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical license.

Department Specific Functions

Responsibilities will include developing a personalized treatment plan for reproductive cancer-related diagnosis. In addition, faculty will have the opportunity for daily interaction and teaching to our 28 residents and medical students. All candidates should be dedicated to providing high-quality patient care, exemplary teaching and research productivity. The department is composed of 30+ faculty members and is based at the University of Miami/ UHealth and Jackson Health Systems in Miami, which is easily accessible and centrally located in Miami, Florida.

Additional responsibilities:
  • Primary clinical responsibilities include participation in inpatient and outpatient Gynecologic Oncology clinical practice at the UMMSOM and Jackson Health System sites.
  • Direct care to gynecologic oncology patients.
  • Consultation for hospitalized patients on GYO service.
  • Consultation for nonservice unit patients by telephone.
  • Will need to use Epic, Cerner for documentation, and MobileCharge for billing.
