Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Tenure System
Position SummaryThe Department of Statistics and Probability at Michigan State University (MSU) seeks candidates to fill a tenure-track faculty position in probability at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to begin in August 2025. Expertise areas of interest include, but are not limited to, high-dimensional probability, random matrix theory, random graphs, stochastic analysis, and stochastic processes. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated research interests or expertise in the development of new theory/method either directly or with clear implications for applications. The successful candidate will develop and sustain a strong research program, provide high-quality education at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and engage in professional and institutional service.

Required DegreeDoctorate -Statistics, probability, mathematics, computer science, or a related field is required
Minimum RequirementsApplicants for the Assistant Professor level are expected to show evidence of productivity and potential for independent research, while Associate/Full Professor applicants should demonstrate leading a successful research program with independent funding. Applicants are also required to demonstrate commitments to teaching and mentorship of students, and to building an equitable and diverse scholarly and instructional environment.
