API Developer
BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated API DEVELOPER for a REMOTE opportunity!
Position Title: API Developer
Location: REMOTE
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Expected Duration: 3+ Months with potential to long term
Job Type: CONTRACT (=40 HRS WEEKLY)/ [CONTRACT], [REMOTE]
Pay Range: [$60/hr]-[$64/hr]
Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).
Job Description:
- Experienced in designing, developing, integrating, and deploying web services (with REST/SOAP/JSON/XML) using micro services architecture
- Expert level of Java development experience, including newer versions
- Expert knowledge of Spring frameworks, including Spring Boot
- Experience with node.js and express.js
- Experience designing and documenting APIs with tools such as Swagger, OpenAPI
- Experience with Java and web services testing tools (ReadyAPI, SOAPUI, Postman, JMeter, etc.)
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or similar.
- Experience with API management tools (e.g., Apigee, Postman, Swagger).
- Strong understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong experience with code review best practices
- Experienced in agile software development methodologies, values and procedures
- Strong experience with version control systems, including Git
- Understanding of Atlassian tools Jira & Confluence
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment and DevOps tools and principles
- Kubernetes service experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of OO design patterns and UML modeling
- Understanding of BDD and TDD styles
- VISIO, PowerPoint, Project
- Ability to communicate complex technical solutions and concepts to leaders and business partners.
