A thriving construction company based in Los Angeles, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a solid background in the construction industry. This role is integral to the financial operations, involving account reconciliations, progressive billing, and team leadership. The Accounting Manager will oversee three accounting team members and work closely with project teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Account Reconciliation: Oversee and ensure accurate account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Progressive Billing: Manage progressive billing processes in alignment with project milestones, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client contracts.

Team Management: Lead, mentor, and support three accounting staff members, promoting team development and efficiency.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

Internal Controls: Develop, monitor, and enhance internal controls and processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Collaboration with Project Teams: Act as a liaison between accounting and project management teams, supporting budget management and cost control.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a construction environment.

Leadership: Proven experience managing and mentoring accounting staff.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel; experience with construction-specific billing systems is a plus.

Knowledge of Construction Accounting: Familiarity with job costing, AIA billing, and percentage of completion accounting.

Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and accountability.
