Additive Manufacturing Technician Position Summary
The Additive Manufacturing Technician at rms is responsible for operating and maintaining additive manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. This role involves printer changeovers, process cleaning, material handling, part removal, and quality assurance. The technician will work closely with various departments to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement in processes.
1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 5:30am to 4:00pm
Responsibilities
Additive Manufacturing Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Support all rms Additive Manufacturing requirements, collaborating with department leads, engineering, project management, and quality personnel.
- Independently set up repeat jobs and maintain complex setups.
- Troubleshoot problems as they arise and implement effective solutions.
- Utilize a variety of inspection equipment beyond basic machinist tools.
- Perform changeovers efficiently to maintain production rates.
- Learn and understand Additive Manufacturing software applications.
- Utilize the DNC system for efficient workflow.
- Interpret SPC charts for process monitoring and control.
- Rewrite layouts as required to meet specifications.
- Inspect parts according to inspection criteria to ensure quality standards are met.
- Support Operational Excellence program by actively participating in process improvement initiatives.
QualificationsAdditive Manufacturing Technician Qualifications - Knowledge and experience with additive metals technology.
- Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Experience in a production environment, particularly in additive manufacturing.
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing software and systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
